After signing an agreement with security guarantors, Ukraine also wants to conclude separate agreements with its participants.
Ukraine offers guarantor countries to sign bilateral agreements in addition to the framework agreement on security guarantees. Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President, announced this in an interview with LB.ua, published on Monday.
“Different states have different internal procedures and specifications. Therefore, it could be a large structured agreement on security guarantees, which will contain general principles, parameters and tools. It must be signed by all or most of the guarantor states, ”he said.
This agreement must go through all internal procedures, local legalization, ratification by parliaments.
“But on this basis, additional bilateral guarantee agreements will have to be concluded with each guarantor state. They will contain more details and more details. And they must also be fully ratified within the signatory states,” he said. Yermak explained.
It was previously reported that Ukraine is negotiating security guarantees with the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Italy and other countries.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Russian Federation is not among Ukraine’s security guarantees, a separate agreement should be signed in Moscow.
At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia could not sign Ukraine’s security guarantees until the issue of ownership of Crimea and Donbas was resolved.
