Former President Donald Trump has consistently admitted publicly that he was involved in an “illegal” plan to disrupt the election, conservative lawyer George Conway said Saturday.
In a two -hour speech Conference “Faith and Freedom”. On Friday, Trump spoke at length about urging Mike Penz to reject the vote in the Jan. 6, 2021 election for Joe Biden.
“I told Mike,‘ If you do that, you could be Thomas Jefferson, ’” Trump told the crowd.
This is Trump’s first speech since he investigated the uprising last year, following a series of spectacular hearings by a committee selected by the House.
“From the prosecutor’s perspective, let him continue to speak,” Conway told host Katie Fang on MSNBC. “He almost still admits that he is lobbying [former Vice President] Mike Pence For doing something completely illegal. “
“A person has to say he has the right to remain silent and whatever he says can and will be used against him in court,” added Conway, the wife of Kelly Conway, a former senior adviser to Trump.
Trump also said he would be “very, very serious” in pardoning those accused of attacking the Capitol if he were re -elected. It could be seen as an attempt to “fake witnesses” if he already had the power, Conway said.

In his speech, Trump also complained that after the uprising, prisoners “completely destroyed their lives and worse than terrorists and murderers”.
He called the violence at the Capitol a “mere protest” that failed and said “most” of the rebels were accused of “walking into the Capitol”.
Conway also discussed Trump’s “intentional blindness” to the illegality of his plan to remove a legitimate presidential election. “He got it, but he didn’t care,” Conway said.
