If it is confirmed that Viktor Orban is pro-Russian, it will mean big problems for the EU and Hungary, the minister believes.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó are not pro-Russian, but pro-Hungarian politicians. Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said this in an interview with the Hungarian Telex portal on Tuesday, January 30.
“If it is confirmed (that Orban and Szijjártó are pro-Russian), edit.), this would mean big problems for both the EU and Hungary. But I think they are pro-Hungarian. If they were pro-Russian, Peter would not have said at the current meeting that he respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine,” said Kuleba.
As you know, on January 29, a meeting between Kuleba, Szijjártó and the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak took place in Uzhgorod. Based on its results, Dmitry Kuleba said that the Ukrainian side received the maximum.
In particular, it is planned to finally resolve the dispute with Hungary on the rights of national minorities, and a special commission under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will present a “concrete understanding” of the direction this within 10 days.
In turn, Szijjártó said Budapest wants Transcarpathia’s Hungarian minority to return the rights it had before 2015.
