Journalists from the Dossier center published a video allegedly filming Vladimir Putin’s “secret dacha” in Karelia – it is located on the shores of the Marjallahti Bay of Lake Ladoga, about 30 kilometers from the border with Finland.

According to journalists, this is the most detailed video ever made at Putin’s residences.
In the early 2010s, this territory was owned by the owners of a local tourist base, who, as the Dossier center states, “were disposed of in the traditional way – with the help of visits from the prosecutor’s office.” After this, the owners of the site became the companies of Yuri Kovalchuk, a close friend of the Russian President. The territory of the camp site was annexed by the lands of the national reserve and closed from prying eyes – it is protected by the Federal Protective Service.
Officially, the residence area is about a square kilometer.
But considering that you can’t just get into the surrounding forests and bays – the area is about four square kilometers – this is twice the size of Monaco,” the Dossier report says.
Now on the territory of the base there are three mansions in a modern style; according to documents they are called “predatory fishing”, “pantry” and “garden house”.
There is also a bathhouse on the water, a trout farm, a farm with cows for the production of marbled beef, two helipads, piers for yachts, as well as a waterfall, in front of which there is a personal gazebo.
A few years ago, a mound appeared behind the “barn.” Journalists suggest that the Pantsir air defense system is being deployed here to protect the Russian President from possible attacks.
In the Marjalahti area, yachts “Algoda” and “Nega” (possibly named after lakes Ladoga and Onega) are regularly spotted.
Since 2020, another mansion has been built four kilometers from Putin’s “secret residence,” as well as a bathhouse, a restaurant, a helipad and a pier. The owner of this complex is businessman Roman Abramovich, as the Dossier center found out.
The official presidential residence in Karelia was located in the village of Shuiskaya Chupa on the banks of Ukshozero. In 2011, the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation sold the residence at an open auction to the Severstal holding of Alexei Mordashov.
