Since being discharged from the National Military Medical Center on January 15, Lloyd Austin has been performing his duties from home during this time.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has returned to full-time work after being hospitalized. The Pentagon announced this on Monday, January 29.
“Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin returned to work at the Pentagon today,” the defense department said in a statement.
It was noted that after being discharged from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on January 15, the minister performed his duties from home during this period.
It can be remembered that 70-year-old Lloyd Austin was hospitalized on January 1 after he felt severe pain. The Pentagon later announced that the defense secretary was being treated for prostate cancer that had been diagnosed at an early stage.
However, for some reason, no one knew about Austin’s hospitalization until January 5th. Even the President of the United States and the national security apparatus only found out about it after the fact. This situation caused misunderstanding and sharp criticism in the United States.
