The head of state called it the millionth. According to him, 880 thousand people serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is an approximate figure. The Ukrainian leader stated this in an interview with the German television channel ARD.
…We have 880 thousand. We have a million-strong army. And at the same time, we have 30 million people today, now exactly 30 million people are working, and maybe even a little more. I can’t say the exact number,” he noted.
At the same time, the president added that the Ukrainian authorities do not yet know how many citizens have left the country since the beginning of a full-scale war. This figure is approximate and amounts to 6.5-7.5 million people.
Therefore, we are talking about all the people who are in Ukraine. And they all defend Europe and the world. Absolutely. At their workplaces,” Zelensky said.
Let us recall that in the summer of 2022, the then Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexei Reznikov stated that the activities of the security and defense sector are provided by about 1 million people in different structures. 700 thousand people were mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
