The leader of Romania’s AUR party, Claudiu Tarziu, said he was ready to annex some Ukrainian territory in exchange for leaving NATO. The Romanian edition of Newsweek writes about it.

“I believe that the warming of relations between Romania and Russia is necessary, I recognize the need for good cooperation between Romania and Russia, I am ready to support it, but only after Russia proves that it also wants this is all…” he stated.

In addition, Tirziu said that Romania is allegedly torn between “two empires that violate our sovereignty.” We are talking about NATO and Russia.

“NATO, which Romania worked so hard to join – certainly to protect us from the Russians, who have already attacked us 12 times – is just one of those empires that we have to deal with in order to recover pieces of Ukraine,” – he said.

We remind you that on January 13, Romanian farmers started blocking the Ukrainian border. They ended the blockade twice pending the outcome of the negotiations.

A day earlier it was reported that three checkpoints on the border with Romania were blocked.
