People’s Deputy of Ukraine Alexander Fedienko said that the country already has several developments capable of neutralizing such drones.
Ukraine has a modern development, and more than one, that can interfere with the systems of such means through electronic warfare (EW), the Militarny portal quotes Fedienko.
The MP also added that special devices are being installed throughout the country that should influence Russian warding ammunition.
This is not one, not two, not three transmitters of influence on such aircraft. These are hundreds of thousands of devices being installed throughout the country,” the deputy added.
“Military” reminds that the Russian “Geranium” (Shahed) has four antennas. These are components of the satellite navigation system located inside the airframe. The Russian-made navigation unit has elements of the Comet electronic warfare countermeasures system. The receiver is designed to protect navigation signals from intentional and unintentional interference to stabilize satellite navigation system signals.
In January 2024, at least 259 Shahed-136/131 drones were recorded over Ukraine, launched from Russian territory. Of these, only 58 were reported to have not been shot down (22%).
It is not exclusively that some drones crash due to their own malfunctions. The Shahed UAV (“Geranium”) is equipped with MD275 engines, while the previous version of the UAV was equipped with an MDR208 engine.
The Muscovites also began to paint loitering ammunition black to make it difficult to detect in the night sky.
