The Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces visited the battle areas and listened to the brigade commanders on the current situation.
Russian invaders increase the intensity of offensive operations in the direction of Seversky and Bakhmut. This was said by the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky.
He said, today, January 26, he went directly to the areas of combat operations and listened to the brigade commanders on the current situation.
According to Syrsky, in the direction of Seversk the Russians continue offensive operations to improve their tactical position and create conditions for the development of an offensive in the direction of Seversk. With the help of attack groups with the active support of mortars and artillery crews, the enemy is unsuccessfully trying to attack in the direction of Kremennaya and Grigorovka.
The general noted that the enemy was compensating for his own failures in offensive actions by increasing the intensity of fire.
“In particular, for the past two days, they have been actively shelling the city with rocket artillery, using air strikes and kamikaze drones,” he said.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the Russians are conducting offensive operations, trying to break the defenses of the Ukrainian defenders to the north and west of Bakhmut, and form an offensive towards Chasovoy Yar.
Syrsky added that the enemy is regrouping its forces and means and using “volunteer corps” units. The enemy is also unsuccessfully trying to restore lost positions in the areas of Klishchievka and Andreevka.
“Due to the lack of tactical successes in some directions, the enemy temporarily switched to defensive actions, at the same time keeping the attack groups in readiness to carry out offensive actions,” said the Colonel General.
Syrsky said that the defense force headquarters and commanders will “react in a timely manner to any changes in the operational situation.” During a visit to military positions on the Eastern Front, a joint assessment of “proposed solutions for further actions” was conducted.
“We clarified the individual tasks and made some decisions to increase the effectiveness of destroying the enemy’s fire. Now we rely on identifying the important objects of the invaders through reconnaissance, delivering accurate attacks of fire, using kamikaze drones and protecting our positions using electronic warfare means,” said the commander of the troops of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
We remind you that, according to the General Staff, 94 military clashes took place on the front during the day.
It was previously reported that the activity of Russian occupation forces is steadily increasing along the entire front line.
