Investigative journalist Yuri Nikolov said that the police released all five participants in illegal actions who were detained for trying to break into his apartment. He wrote this on his Facebook page on Friday, January 26.
“Today I am in the police, filed a statement as a victim in the case. I learned that the police, having identified and searched them, immediately released “five participants in illegal actions against the journalist.” No one is in prison, because no one suspects now. freedom,” said Nikolov.
According to him, the law enforcement officers also did not inform him about the letters and testimony found in their possession.
“They promised to tell us when the pre-trial investigation will be completed. They also did not say when it will be completed. The qualifications are the same, easily – Part 2 of Article 171, that is, without mentioning a crime that organized by anyone, as in Part 3. Life goes on.” , – said the journalist.
We remind you that on January 14, Nikolov said that unknown people entered his home, trying to scare him. Kyiv police reported that they have started an investigation into threats to the journalist. On January 19, the prosecutor’s office opened criminal proceedings for obstructing Nikolov’s work.
On January 21, law enforcement identified five people who broke into the journalist’s house. Residents of Kyiv, Zhitomir and Cherkasy regions were involved in threatening Nikolov.
