In the Lviv region, a group of people extorted 100 thousand UAH from a local businessman. They said he owed them. This was reported on Thursday, January 25, by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.
It is indicated that a group of people, the so-called “supervisors” of the cities of Truskavets, Borislav and Stebnik, regularly demanded money from the people for “incurred debts.”
If they refused to pay, they intimidated and forced the businessmen to pay the funds.
“These individuals have been brought up on criminal charges before,” law enforcement officials said.
One of the businessmen asked the police for help.
“The defendants demanded 100,000 hryvnias from one of the businessmen. Fearing physical harm and in the absence of the full amount, the victim paid the debt parts. On January 24, in Truskavets, operatives with investigators from the Main Directorate of Police in the Lviv region detained two observers while receiving 40,000 UAH from the victim – a partially fictitious loan. Those detained face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of assets.
