In total, according to the UN on June 16, 7.704 million people have left Ukraine since the start of the war, while 2.559 million have returned (without data from Hungary, the Russian Federation and Belarus). According to this information, the UN estimates the total number of refugees since the beginning of the war at approximately 4 .8 million people, including more than 1.2 million people in Russia.
The UNHCR estimates the number of internally displaced people in Ukraine due to the war released by Russia at more than 7.1 million. Moreover, approximately 15.7 million people, according to the organization, are in need of humanitarian assistance and protection.
