The Congress took place in Kyiv on January 25.
The legendary Ukrainian football player and ex-coach of the national team will become the successor of Andrei Pavelko, who is in jail on suspicion of corruption.
An audit of the financial activities of the UAF over the past nine years will be conducted. Its results will be known in two months,” Shevchenko said in a speech at the Congress.
He also outlined the main problems of Ukrainian football and identified ways to solve them.
Shevchenko will be replaced as president of the UAF by Pavelko, who has held the position since 2015. Since June 2023, Pavelko has been in custody without the right to bail on suspicion of embezzlement.
