The invaders entered the rear of the Ukrainian positions in the south of the city through an old underground pipe. Before this, they spent several weeks preparing the tunnel for the operation.
Last week, the Russians suddenly entered one of the areas of Avdeevka, known as the Tsar’s Hunt, and seized several streets. The invaders, as reported by the Ukrainian military, suddenly found themselves behind the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It is a mystery to our soldiers how the enemy entered the city unnoticed.
Later, one of the Ukrainian Telegram channels said that the Russians allegedly discovered a two-kilometer pipe, which led 150 Russian infantrymen on the hunt for the Tsar. The previous day, propaganda pages confirmed this information and published corresponding photos and videos of Russian soldiers clearing the tunnel and crawling towards the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Cunning plan
The enemy sortie succeeded in the third attempt; before that, their infantry faced flooding and lack of air. According to the propagandists, they spent several weeks cleaning up the found pipe, installing an oxygen supply, and cutting roads. The sounds of the occupation seemed to be drowned out by active artillery and mortar fire.
The enemy’s operation involved 150 Russian military personnel, who covered almost two kilometers along the pipe and reached the rear of our defenders, as a result of which the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost several positions.
According to military journalist Andrei Tsaplienko, until now they have been expelled from there.
“War is the art of lying and deceiving the enemy. This time the enemy succeeded, although it was possible to predict his actions,” added the journalist.
According to him, in 2014, the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps Right Sector in Piski tried to block underground communications in the territory of the Donetsk airport so that the enemy, even theoretically, could not get into the rear of the volunteers.
Unsuccessful attempt
The head of the military administration of the city of Avdiivka, Vitaly Barabash, also confirmed that the Russian DRG entered the southern part of the city, but added that the enemy was repelled from there and the Tsar’s Hunt area was controlled by Ukrainian defenders inside for 2 -3 days. The military is also talking about it.
Thus, an officer of the Legion of Freedom, Major of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Maxim Morozov also does not confirm that the invaders took control of the Tsar’s Hunt area or advanced further. He calls this situation “hyped” and the attempt to enter the city by pipe was “unsuccessful.”
“The Russians are making attempts to enter the city, there are attempts to enter from the industrial zone, our defense forces destroyed these DRGs. The same attempt was made by hunting the Tsar who entered in the streets of the old part of the city of Avdievka . I will not make an information book here to say that everything is lost,” said Morozov on the Espresso TV channel.
He said that the fighters and commanders on the ground he spoke with do not confirm the critical situation in the city and do not see a retreat.
New attack
At the same time, Morozov said that Russia is now preparing for a new attack on Avdeevka. The enemy has already moved about 40 thousand reservists (mostly motley fighters) closer to the city. In addition, among stormtroopers there are prisoners and Storm-Z and Storm V units.
Also, according to the military man, Ukrainian intelligence has information about a Russian tank point formed with new tanks that will participate in the attack on Avdeevka.
Today, Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Artem Ignatenko (call sign Blogger) spoke about the situation in the city. According to him, the Russians do not stop and continue to try to enter Avdeevka.
“In recent days, they don’t attack in a big way with armored vehicles, but they try to pass through small groups of infantry and use many and often missiles and aircraft, hit hard with CABs. It has become more the shelling was frequent. They were hit both day and night,” the military said.
