An electric car topped the ranking of the most popular new cars in Europe for the first time

Tesla Model Y is one of the most popular cars in European countries during the seven months of 2023.

The American Tesla Model Y topped the ranking of the most popular new cars in Europe in 2023 and became the first electric car on this list. It was reported by Ukravtoprom.

The Model Y has been the top seller for more than half a year, demonstrating its continued popularity.

The Dacia Sandero topped the list for four months, while the Volkswagen T-Roc took first place once.

The top 10 best-selling cars in Europe last year looked like this:

  • Tesla Model Y – 254,822 units;

  • Dacia Sandero – 235,893 units;

  • VW T-Roc – 206,438 units;

  • Renault Clio – 202,942 units;

  • Peugeot 208 – 194,376 units;

  • Opel Corsa – 188,662 units;

  • VW Golf – 184,279 units;

  • Toyota Yaris Cross – 176,685 units;

  • VW Tiguan – 174,267 units;

  • Skoda Octavia – 161,784 units.
