The Latvian government has decided to transfer 14 more cars confiscated from drunk drivers to Ukraine free of charge. Delfi reported it.
The vehicles were intended for the army units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, a municipal medical enterprise in the Izyum district of the Kharkov region, the Arbuzinsky village council of the Nikolaev region, a military unit of the National Guard, the Kamenets-Podolsk district council of the Khmelnytsky region and the Kitaygorod village council of the Khmelnytsky region.
In total, Latvia will transfer to Ukraine a batch of 14 cars, the total market value of which is more than 100 thousand euros.
The vehicles will be transported from Latvia to Ukraine using the so-called Twitter convoy.
Let’s recall that at the beginning of 2023, the Seimas of Latvia supported the changes to the law on supporting the civilian population of Ukraine, which created the grounds for the transfer of vehicles confiscated from drunk drivers to the ownership of Ukraine.
Latvia sent a total of 271 vehicles confiscated from drunk drivers to Ukraine. In mid-December, the total value of confiscated cars was more than 900 thousand euros.
