Interest on deposits held in Belgium will be transferred to Ukraine as military aid.
The Belgian authorities will transfer more than 600 million euros of military aid to Ukraine. This amount is interest from Russian fixed assets. It was reported on Tuesday, January 23 by the Belga News Agency.
“Military aid is the amount that the Belgian Ministry of Defense receives from interest in frozen Russian assets,” explained Belgian Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder.
We remind you that on Monday, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov confirmed the provision of military aid in the amount of 611 million euros.
“Belgium plans to provide €611 million in military aid this year and has a long-term commitment to support the modernization of our defense forces,” the minister added.
