Among the defendants are residents of Kharkov, Dnieper, Kyiv, Kyiv and Kirovograd regions. The attackers kidnapped people close to future victims in order to find out details of their everyday life and the presence of a security system in their homes.
The police carried out a special operation in the territory of Kyiv, Dnepropetrovsk, Lvov, Kharkov, Kirovograd, Vinnitsa and detained the organizers and participants of the armed criminal organization.
As a rule, the criminal organization came to the attention of persons whose activities were related to cryptocurrency. The defendants made a so-called “file” on all potential victims.
They carefully prepared for the crime: they held repeated meetings to coordinate all the details and plan escape routes, conducted reconnaissance of the area, selected weapons and equipment, and even monitored the weather forecast so that in case of precipitation there would be no traces left on the area.
Due to the fact that the group members were from different regions, they came together on a certain date and place to hold joint meetings.
