According to the decision of the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv, Kolomoisky will remain in the SBU detention center until March 22, 2024 or may be released on bail of 2.65 billion hryvnia.
The oligarch’s lawyers noted the client’s health problems and asked to be released under house arrest in the village of Nikolskoye-on-Dnieper in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
I developed a heart problem, which, perhaps, existed before, but not in such an acute form. Now she needs additional examination, at least 3 programs that need to be done,” the publication “Play” quotes the businessman.
They also tried to bail Kolomoisky again. The court refused.
Previously, the Kolomoisky court determined bail in the amount of UAH 3.8 billion as an alternative to detention, but on December 21 last year the Kiev Court of Appeal reduced it to UAH 2.7 billion.
In September 2023, the Bureau of Economic Security and the Security Service of Ukraine announced suspicion to Kolomoisky under two articles of the Criminal Code: Art. 190 (fraud) and Art. 209 (legalization (laundering) of property obtained by criminal means).
Employees of the BEB and the SBU accuse Kolomoisky of laundering more than half a billion hryvnia during 2013-2020 by transferring them abroad using the infrastructure of controlled banking institutions.
The Shevchenko District Court chose a preventive measure for Kolomoisky in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of UAH 3.8 billion. The preventive measure was in effect until December 2. In November, the court extended the preventive measure against Kolomoisky in the form of detention until January 26. In addition, on September 7, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau announced to the former ultimate beneficial owner of PrivatBank Kolomoisky and five members of the group organized by him of suspicion of embezzlement of bank funds amounting to more than UAH 9.2 billion.
