The director of the department, Sukhachev, announced this on January 22.
According to him, officials of the State GeoCadastre and other officials who are subjects of the DBR are involved in the scheme, which is why the department is investigating this proceeding. He added that 12 people involved in the case have now been identified, but this is not the entire list. Among them are businessman Mazepa, local officials, developers and officials of the State GeoCadastre of the Kiev region.
According to the head of the State Bureau of Investigation, illegal development and privatization of more than 7 hectares has been documented. Now they are checking the involvement of these persons in the seizure of about 300 hectares of land with an estimated value of 1.1 billion UAH. The very construction of a protective dam for a hydroelectric power station can lead to a man-made disaster, says the head of the bureau.
Mazepa’s company, Concorde Capital, told Public in a comment that a residential building belonging to a businessman burned down at night in the Chernihiv region.
According to the preliminary findings of the State Emergency Service, the probable cause of the fire was a design flaw and a violation of the rules for installing heating stoves and chimneys.
The Manifesto 42 movement, in response to the arrest of Igor Mazepa, demands that the authorities solve the problem of pressure on business and is preparing a warning protest. The association will stop its enterprises for an hour if the authorities do not respond to its demands. This is stated in a statement by the social movement.
Meanwhile, Igor Mazepa’s defense filed an appeal against the decision of the Pechersky District Court, according to which the businessman was taken into custody with an alternative to bail of 349 million hryvnia. This is stated in a statement from the company representing Mazepa’s interests.
At the same time, they noted that the appeal will be supplemented when they receive the full text of the ruling of the Pechersky District Court.
Let us remind you that since January 19, businessman Igor Mazepa has been in the Lukyanovsky pre-trial detention center. His lawyer Taras Poshivanyuk, in a comment to hromadske, said that Mazepa is in acceptable conditions, “as far as possible in the conditions of the Lukyanovsky pre-trial detention center.”
The businessman was given a preventive measure in the form of detention until February 27 with the possibility of posting almost UAH 350 million in bail. His brother Yuri was also sent to the pre-trial detention center. The court sent two more suspects into custody, setting bail at UAH 45 million and UAH 20 million.
