In Odessa, the fifth member of a criminal organization that supplied the Ukrainian Armed Forces with low-quality clothing worth 1 billion hryvnias was detained. The Office of the Prosecutor General announced this on Monday, January 22.

It is indicated that the person involved in the high-profile case was detained in Odessa at 6:50 in the morning while arranging a trip outside Ukraine.
“According to the investigation, the suspect left for Odessa on approximately January 17 and since then was preparing to cross the state border and leave the country. On January 19, at the request of the prosecutors, the court granted permission to stop him. The The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the detainee is currently being decided. The other four suspects are in custody,” the statement said.
We remind you that on January 18, the State Bureau of Investigation put Roman Grinkevich, the son of the main person involved in the case, Igor Grinkevich, on the wanted list. He is suspected of fraud and participation in a criminal group.
As you know, at the end of December 2023, SBI detained one of the largest suppliers to the Ministry of Defense – Lviv businessman Igor Grinkevich. He offered 500 thousand dollars to one of the heads of the Main Investigation Department of the State Bureau of Investigation. For this, the businessman wants “assistance” in the return of property seized from companies under his control during the criminal investigation.
The State Bureau of Investigation has opened several criminal proceedings regarding transactions involving the purchase of clothing and linen for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Business companies won 23 tenders to supply the Ministry of Defense with clothing worth 1.5 billion hryvnias.
The Ministry of Defense terminated the agreements concluded with Grinkevich. Family property and businesses controlled by the businessman were confiscated. Among the seized properties are 17 residential real estates, 7 non-residential real estates, 18 land plots, 9 premium cars, shares in the authorized capital amounting to UAH 14.73 million; 12 weapons; 3 items of intellectual property.
