This enterprise in Ust-Luga processes stable gas condensate into oil, and also ships petroleum products to foreign markets. The plant is located in a coastal area next to a specialized terminal where products are stored. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to information from the Novatek company.
It is noted that Novatek has stopped all technological operations. The plant’s management claims that no one was allegedly injured due to the drone attack.
In 2022, the enterprise processed almost 7 million tons of gas condensate. Condensate is a by-product of natural gas and oil production.
Let us remind you that on the night of January 21, explosions were reported in Russia in several regions – Tula, Smolensk and Leningrad regions. The most destructive explosions were in the port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad Region, from where natural gas is transported. Ukrainian media reported that the night drone attack on the sea terminal in the Russian Ust-Luga was a special operation of the Security Service of Ukraine.
