Reducing the load on the energy system is very important, so Ukrainians are urged to consume electricity responsibly.
As of Sunday morning, there was no power shortage in the Ukrainian energy system. Some power units of thermal power plants are reserved. The Ministry of Energy reported this on January 21.
“There are four thermal power units and one thermal power plant building in reserve, which can be activated if necessary. The system is balanced. Shutdown schedules are not applied,” the message said.
At the same time, the department recalled that reducing the load on the energy system is very important, especially during peak consumption hours (on weekends from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 18:00 to 20:00). Therefore, Ukrainians are encouraged to consume electricity responsibly.
Now Ukraine will again import electricity in the amount of 5800 MWh. Export is not expected.
In the past, Ukrenergo warned for two days in a row about a deficit in the energy system at the level of 3-5% during the day.
The Ministry of Energy also announced the record icing of power grids. The most difficult situation is in the Kirovograd region.
