The Ukrainian Embassy in Poland announced that the extension of temporary protection status, announced by the Polish government earlier, does not apply to Ukrainian citizens.
It is noted that citizens of Ukraine who received temporary protection in Poland based on the Special Law of March 12, 2022, that is, received a PESEL number with UKR status, from January 18, 2024 can stay in Poland based on of this status until March 4, 2024.
“We will report further changes separately,” the embassy said.
As reported, according to the information posted on the official page of the Office of Foreigners, the extension of the period of validity of temporary protection certificates does not mean the extension of the period of validity of temporary protection for citizens of Ukraine .
“Certificates of the use of temporary protection are issued to citizens of third countries who, at the time of the start of the full-scale aggression, legally resided on the territory of Ukraine and arrived in Poland, having escaped the conflict,” explained the embassy .
We remind you that the Polish government announced the extension until March 4, 2025 of the temporary protection mechanism launched by an executive decision of the EU Council in March 2022.
