Actions at the strategic level are discussed at Headquarters. In particular, the prospects for maintaining the initiative in Ukraine.
On Wednesday, January 17, President Vladimir Zelensky held a meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on the situation in the main operational and tactical directions of the front. The head of state announced this in a video message in the evening.
“Held Headquarters. Operational level: the situation at the front today. Commanders reports. Different directions: east, south. Also in the north – countering sabotage groups, strengthening the border,” Zelensky said.
According to the president, “there is a strategic level of discussion: our actions this year are not just defense.”
“Ukraine needs an ambitious, active vision, so that our state has the initiative, and not the enemy, so that the end of the war depends on Ukrainian actions,” said the head of state.
“The world supports those who have a future. And this main task is to keep the initiative to have a chance to become stronger,” Zelensky added.
We remind you that the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, said that the invaders did not achieve the goals they set in recent months. The offensive of the Russian army failed.
The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Vadim Skibitsky, ruled the transition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to a “strict defense”, because the Russians will try to take advantage of it.
