The Ukrainian Armed Forces received shells, drones and armored personnel carriers. In the future, Berlin promises Kyiv dozens of infantry fighting vehicles, self-propelled anti-aircraft guns and reconnaissance drones. The German government announced this on January 17.
The new aid package included ammunition for Leopard 1A5 tanks, 25 RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drones, eight armored personnel carriers, 16 Mercedes-Benz Zetros tankers and five vehicles for border guards.
The Defense Forces were also given:
- three civilian vehicles;
- 50 SatCom communication terminals;
- 500 LED lamps;
- materials for disposal of explosive ordnance;
- about 2 thousand M92 combat helmets.
In the future, the German government intends to transfer to Ukraine another 30 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, 15 Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns and more than 100 RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drones.
Let us recall that on January 11, Estonian President Alar Karis said that his country would provide assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 1.2 billion euros by 2027. It was decided that Tallinn will annually provide Kyiv with 0.25 percent of the Estonian defense budget.
