Before this, the youngest person to reach base camp alone was a five-year-old Indian.
Four-year-old Zara from the Czech Republic has set a world record by reaching Everest Base Camp. His brother Saša Jede announced it on Instagram.
The new world record was set on January 7, when the girl was only 4 years and 5 months old. He climbed to a height of 5300 meters above sea level without outside help. He was accompanied by his father and seven-year-old brother.
In total, the children walked 270 km in the mountains and climbed to a height of more than 20,000 meters in a temperature of minus 25 degrees.
It is known that Zara had no problem during the climb and acclimatized well due to her excellent physical condition, having grown up in the harsh conditions of rural Malaysia.
From early childhood, the girl walked 5-10 kilometers every day with a total elevation gain of 300-600 meters, and in 2023 she walked more than 2,200 kilometers in the forest.
Little Zara doesn’t bathe in warm water either, instead, she adds ice to the water, which is probably why the cold isn’t a problem for her.
