The increase in demand for special goods and the war in Ukraine have forced Polish defense and arms manufacturing enterprises to increase their capacity.
Enterprises of the Polish defense complex will increase their capacity. In particular, the production of guns, TNT and heavy artillery increased. Rzeczpospolit writes about it.
It was noted that the Łucznik Radom factory tripled production and planned to produce 100 thousand guns per year. It has been agreed to build additional workshops.
It was also reported that the Huta Stalowa Wola plant, a manufacturer of heavy artillery, long-range self-propelled howitzers Krab and automatic mortars Rak, will soon become a supplier of infantry fighting vehicles and armored vehicles. Before 2022, the plant completed technological modernization worth several tens of millions of zlotys. Today, these investments have proven to be insufficient.
Remontowa Shipbuilding and PGZ shipyards were immediately rebuilt. They will be responsible for the construction of three licensed multi-purpose frigates of the new generation from the series for 15 billion zlotys.
The publication also notes that the war in Ukraine and a sharp increase in demand for explosives forced the Nitro-Chem plant in Bydgoszcz to increase TNT production to the highest level. And the Autosan company, which previously produced electric buses, will start production of the latest multi-purpose high mobility armored vehicle Waran.
Let’s remember that Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that the world should tighten sanctions against Russia and give Ukraine long-range missiles.
It was also reported that Poland has transferred 18 Krab self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine; in general, there are agreements to provide Ukraine with more than fifty such vehicles.
