Russia is attacking Ukraine massively with missiles to cause more damage to Ukraine. This is unlikely to be related to the transfer of F-16 fighters.

Speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Yuriy Ignat announced this on air at the national telethon, reports the RBC-Ukraine agency.
This is how Ignat commented on the recent statement by the head of the intelligence center of the Estonian Defense Forces, Ants Kiviselg, who believes that Russia is trying to attack Ukrainian airfields because it is afraid of the transfer of F-16s to Ukraine.
It is clear that Russia wants to cause as much damage as possible. Is this related to the F-16? Don’t know. Perhaps that’s not the point. Each missile is aimed at the target that was assigned to it at the start, or each drone,” Ignat emphasized.
He noted that Russian occupiers sometimes manage to hit targets. But Ukraine’s air defense is working – we are talking not only about fire weapons, but also about electronic warfare systems.
As an example, Ignat cited yesterday’s enemy attack, when out of 40 air attack weapons, 20 did not reach their goals precisely thanks to electronic warfare.
