Romanian farmers stopped blocking the movement of trucks through the Porubnoye-Siret checkpoint on the Ukrainian border. The State Border Service of Ukraine reported this on Saturday, January 13.
They noted that the blockade lasted five hours. Now the passage of trucks and cars, passenger buses and pedestrians is carried out in accordance with the established procedure.
“Have a nice trip!” – added border guards.
Earlier on Saturday, the State Border Service of Ukraine reported that in Romania, farmers blocked the movement of trucks through the Siret checkpoint, opposite the Ukrainian Porubnoye. The State Border Guard Service wrote that the reasons and approximate duration of the blockade are unknown.
In this regard, Romanian publications Digi24 and Adevărul reported that protests by carriers and farmers broke out in several localities on January 10, including on the Bulgarian border.
In particular, the protesters complained about fuel prices, they were unhappy with taxation, they demanded the abolition of the mandatory installation of GPS on trucks, and farmers also demanded improved credit to sector and to stop importing grain from Ukraine.
We remind you that on January 4, Polish farmers continued to block the Medika-Shegini checkpoint.
It was also reported that the Polish government signed an agreement with farmers to end the blockade of the border crossing with Ukraine at the Medica-Shegini checkpoint.
