“We are talking, in particular, about important areas such as standards for command and control of troops and standards for the operation of weapons and military equipment. In 2023, the development of national standards for life cycle management system of weapons and military equipment, based on the relevant basic NATO standards, has also been almost completed,” he said.
As you know, in June 2021, the North Atlantic Council announced a new package of Ukraine-NATO Partnership Goals, which contains 46 Goals. All member states of the North Atlantic Alliance have accepted them. As part of the package of Ukraine-NATO Partnership Goals, it is proposed to introduce 219 standards of the Alliance in our country by 2025.
According to Gavrilyuk, of the recommended 219 standards, Ukraine has already introduced 186. We have introduced another 123 standards on our own initiative.
In total, there are approximately 1,200 standards in the North Atlantic Alliance.
Gavrilyuk added that in 2024 it is planned to introduce another 50 NATO standards in the security sector. The introduction of NATO standards in both 2023 and 2024 is given in the priority action plans of the Cabinet of Ministers.
It was previously reported that in October-November 2023, four more NATO standards were introduced to the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of Ukraine.
