The meetings in Estonia and Latvia will focus on further countering Russia’s aggressive war and long-term and effective support for Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, after visiting the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, will visit Estonia and Latvia the next day. This was reported by the national journalists of the two countries on Thursday, January 10.
In Tallinn, the Ukrainian leader is expected to meet with Estonian President Alar Karis, Prime Minister Kaja Kalas and Parliament Speaker Lauri Hussar. He will also give a speech to the Estonian Parliament Riigikogu.
The meetings will focus on further opposition to Russia’s aggressive war and long-term and effective support for Ukraine necessary to win the war.
During his visit to Riga, Zelensky will give a speech at the Seimas and meet with high-ranking Latvian officials – President Edgars Rinkevics, Prime Minister Evika Silina, Speaker of the Seimas Daiga Mierina.
It is planned to discuss bilateral cooperation between the countries, future support for Latvia and other allies of Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression, as well as issues related to the Euro-Atlantic integration of our state.
This is Zelensky’s second visit to Estonia and Latvia as president and the first since the start of Russia’s massive invasion. Previously, President Zelensky visited Tallinn and Riga in the fall of 2019.
