The Ukrainian leader thanked his colleague for Poland’s consistent, unwavering support for Ukraine as Ukraine’s constant ally on the path to joining the EU and NATO. The common border must be a true European border and a “unity border”. Zelensky said that there should be no borders between Ukrainians and Poles. This was reported by the Office of the President.
“I am convinced that the future of Ukraine and Poland lies in unity, mutual support and mutually beneficial cooperation,” he said.
Both presidents also discussed issues of cooperation in the defense sector, with an emphasis on the key needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Zelensky told Dudi about the recent massive Russian air strikes and reminded him that Ukrainian air defense needs to be strengthened.
Separately, Zelensky raised the issue of Poland joining the joint declaration of the G7 leaders on security guarantees for Ukraine.
Let us remind you that Warsaw stated that the ban on the import of Ukrainian grain would not be lifted. Polish authorities will wait for new rules to be introduced at the level of the European Union.
At the same time, the Polish authorities noted the need to strengthen the Armed Forces of Ukraine and provide long-range missiles.
