The charity AOAV emphasized that the increase was driven by wars in Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan, Myanmar and Somalia.
Last year, the number of civilians killed or injured in bombings was the highest in 10 years. BBC News reported this on Tuesday, January 9, citing the charity Anti-Arm Violence (AOAV).
The report states that by 2023, the increase in the number of civilian casualties caused by explosions will be recorded by 122%.
The increase in numbers is mainly due to the wars waged in Ukraine, between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, Sudan, Myanmar and Somalia.
The attacks killed at least 15,305 civilians, a 122% increase since 2022. Tens of thousands were injured.
The AOAV reported that the use of air-launched weapons worldwide increased by 226% in 2023, from 519 incidents in 2022 to 1,694 last year.
The charity also noted a significant increase in the use of ground-based weapons by 2023.
Let’s remember that Kropyvnytskyi was burned. Russian troops opened fire on several energy facilities in the city, injuring someone.
We previously wrote that explosions took place in Krivoy Rog, Dnepropetrovsk region, on January 4th.
