The head of state stressed that Ukraine will not surrender to the occupier and will not accept occupation under any circumstances.
The Russian army did not spare its people and actively bombarded Ukraine with artillery and bomb strikes. However, despite all these efforts, he was unable to achieve victory in the war. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said this at Sweden’s annual national conference Society and defense.
According to him, one of the main conclusions that can be drawn from almost two years of Ukrainian resistance to the Russian Federation in a full-scale war is that when a country relies on the support of partners, it can successfully defend itself even against a much greater enemy in the military sense. He added that Sweden’s defense support also contributed to this.
The head of state recalled that after Christmas, during the New Year, Russia tried to “bring Ukraine to its knees again with air strikes” and large-scale attacks. Zelensky also emphasized that Ukraine will not surrender to the occupier and will not tolerate occupation under any worse conditions.
“Every country that values freedom has ways to fight even if it is difficult or impossible to rely on anyone’s help. But to fight successfully, to recover what is ours, to restore security to the people, to the own region, and to teach the aggressor that aggression does not give any benefit is possible only if the defense draws strength from unity. Because the unity of many is always stronger than any enemy power. And whatever Russia does against in Ukraine, we have proven that we can find the necessary counterbalance when we act boldly, when we act together with partners and when we have an absolutely pure goal – to protect life,” concluded the President of Ukraine.
Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky said that the Russian leadership does not care about human life, but not about money. Loss of assets would be the most painful loss for a terrorist state.
