Bolivian President Luis Arce announced the seizure of a record cocaine shipment in the country, weighing approximately 8.8 tons. The local street value of the drugs is $224 million, but in Europe it is nearly double that. It was reported by Reuters.
The drugs were hidden in wooden floor materials found in the truck and likely destined for the Netherlands, where they are estimated to be worth about $526 million, Arce said.
Four drug traffickers were arrested in nine raids, officials said.
We remind you that the largest shipment of cocaine in the history of the country was seized in Ireland – more than 2.2 tons.
It was previously reported that a boat with cocaine worth 70 million euros was intercepted off the coast of Spain.
