The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces published operational information about the Russian invasion on Saturday night, January 6.
“The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult. During the day, 27 military clashes took place. In general, the enemy launched 8 missiles and 55 air strikes, carried out 23 attacks from many launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, there were dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residences and apartment buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged,” the statement said.
In the direction of Kupyansk, the Defense Forces repelled 3 enemy attacks in the Sinkovka, Petropavlovka, Ivanovka areas of the Kharkov region, where the enemy, with aviation support, unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical situation.
In the direction of Liman, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.
In the Bakhmut direction, the defense forces repelled the enemy attack in the Klishchievka area.
In the Avdeevsky direction, 5 enemy attacks were repelled in the Novobakhmutovka, Stepnoy, Avdeevka areas and another 9 attacks in the Pervomaiskoye and Nevelskoye areas of the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical situation.
In the Maryinsky direction, the defense forces continued to hold the enemy in the areas of Maryinka and Novomikhailovka, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried 5 times to break the defenses of our troops.
In the Shakhtarsky direction the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.
In the direction of Zaporozhye, the defense forces repelled 2 enemy attacks in the areas of Robotiny and south of Novodarovka, where the enemy, with aviation support, tried to improve the tactical situation.
In the direction of Kherson, Tyaginka, Kherson, Aleksandrovka of the Kherson region and Kutsurub, Ochakov of the Nikolaev region came under enemy artillery shelling.
“The enemy does not give up his intention to expel our units from the bridges on the left bank of the Dnieper. Thus, during the day, the enemy carried out 18 unsuccessful attack operations on the positions of our troops, but the Ukrainian soldiers continued to hold their positions and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy. During the day, the Defense aviation forces hit 19 places where enemy personnel were concentrated. The missile units forces hit 1 control point, 1 ammunition depot, 1 artillery piece, 1 air defense radar and 1 enemy Tor air defense system,” the General Staff reported.
Let’s recall that in the morning report on January 6, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 13 attacks on the left bridgehead of the bank were repelled.
