The United States is pursuing the goal of making Ukraine self-reliant in the production and purchase of weapons.
The US will reduce aid to Ukraine only when Ukraine can do without this support, but this will not happen in 2024. So, on Friday, January 5, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba responded to the statement of the US State Department in reducing aid in an interview with journalist Vadim Karpyak on Instagram.
“We are not talking about 2024. The State Department said that when Ukraine is firmly standing, there will be enough weapons and resources to counter Russian aggression, then the cost of support can be reduced, ” explained Kuleba.
He noted that Miller himself admitted: now Ukraine has not been able to provide itself with weapons on its own and needs support in the declared amount. Therefore, support will not be reduced in 2024.
“Do not boil. Do not look for further boiling in your head to throw yourself into a state of misery and depression,” advised the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
Earlier, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that American military funding for Ukraine will not be maintained at the level of 2022-2023, as the United States pursues the goal of making Ukraine independent in matters of production and purchase of weapons.
We remind you that earlier the White House said that there was no money for new military support for Ukraine before the US Congress approved it.
On December 27, the United States announced that it would give Ukraine its final military aid package in 2023, worth $250 million.
