The Kerch Bridge is closed in Crimea. Local public pages reported explosions in the Kerch Strait area, calling it “air defense work.”
The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that on Friday night the Russian military shot down 36 drones over the annexed Crimea and one over the Krasnodar Territory.
Earlier, the department reported that air defense systems shot down 10 Ukrainian missiles over Crimea.
An air raid alert was sounded in Sevastopol on Thursday evening, and the city’s Moscow-appointed governor, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said falling debris had injured at least one person.
In addition, in the evening in Belgorod the missile warning siren was turned on, and explosions were heard there too. Local telegram channels published videos of these sounds. Subsequently, photos and videos of cars overturned by the explosion in a residential area of the city were published online.
The Russians commented that their air defense allegedly shot down 10 air targets over Belgorod and the Belgorod region. The region’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said two people were injured, and the shell explosion blew out windows in several apartments in residential buildings in the city. More than 30 cars were also damaged.
The mayor of Belgorod, Valentin Demidov, published footage from the scene of the explosion and clarified that about 130 window panes were broken in apartments on two streets of the Muscovite city.
The Russian military believes that it shot down 10 Vilkha missiles over Russia that night.
