Ukraine and the United States have agreed to strengthen air defense in Ukraine. This was announced by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak after a telephone conversation with the National Security Adviser to US President Jake Sullivan. This was said on Tuesday, January 2, in Telegram by Andrey Ermak.
The head of the Office of the President noted that during the conversation they discussed the consequences of the recent mass shelling of the territory of Ukraine by the Russian Federation using various types of missile weapons and suicide-type kamikaze drones.
“It was learned about the results of the work of the Ukrainian air defense forces, which shot down most of the enemy’s aerial targets, including Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles. We agreed on the importance of strengthening the air defense of Ukrainian. The importance of maintaining the necessary level of support for Ukrainian air defense from the United States was noted,” Ermak wrote.
He also expressed sincere gratitude to the team of US President Joe Biden for their efforts aimed at getting Congress to quickly approve the aid package needed for Ukraine.
We remind you that Zelensky called on Ukrainians to pay attention to air raid signals in the coming days.
As you know, this morning Russian troops fired 99 missiles of various types and 35 kamikaze drones into Ukraine. Air defense forces managed to destroy 72 missiles and all drones.
