The Lithuanian minister warned the West against “repeating mistakes” and urged not to wait for another Pearl Harbor.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis stated on the social network X that the West may repeat historical mistakes on the issue of military aid to Ukraine, and called on allies not to wait for the “Pearl Harbor Effect.”
“We have been delayed for 25 years and are trying to stop Putin’s (President of Russia Vladimir Putin – ed.) imperialism through dialogue and diplomacy, while he continues to ignore borders and destroy cities,” the leader wrote of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.
According to him, the problem of Russian imperialism did not disappear in 2014, and for most countries in the eastern part of NATO “it is clear that the next stage of aggression will be more expensive and more terrible.”
“And it happened. When Russia attacked again, the war suddenly became the problem of the present. And again, we think that we can solve something by postponing the problem “for tomorrow”. It will remain,” added Landsbergis.
