The Russian army is changing the focus of its attacks and is now launching more UAVs specifically on front-line territory.
The Russian military is using Iranian Shahed-type drones against Ukraine. The Spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Ignat, spoke about this to We-Ukraine.
According to him, the enemy changed the focus of its attacks – most of the 49 attack drones launched by the Russians were not aimed at the center of our state.
“Most of these attack drones in 49 are focused on the front-line territory. That is, the defense line, in fact, where our fighters are, as well as the front-line territories of regions like of Nikolaev, Kherson, Kharkov , Zaporozhye,” the spokesman said.
Ignat added that this is not the first time the Russians have used Shahed drones in this way – “this is a change in the emphasis of the attack.”
“Previously, the drones, as you can see, flew in the middle of the country, because the Shahed is a long-range, high-precision weapon… The enemy is changing the emphasis of its attacks and now more UAVs in the front-line territory. It is clear that it is clear to immediately shoot down the one that just arrived from the territory of the “enemy”, it is not so easy,” said the spokesman.
According to him, the Shahed are not easy targets. “The fighters chasing them across the territory of our state can fly around it five times and not be able to destroy it. The target is difficult for our old, Soviet fighters, in fact, we rely on F-16, maybe it will help us, when it appears in Ukraine,” added Ignat.
Let’s recall that on the night of December 31, Ukrainian defenders shot down 21 out of 49 attack drones launched by Russian troops across Ukrainian territory.
A fire broke out in the Kyiv region after a night attack by kamikaze drones. A fire broke out in a critical infrastructure facility. No one was killed or injured.
