In 2023, average daily Russian casualties in killed and wounded rose to nearly 300 per day, higher than in the past. If the rate of daily Russian losses in the war with Ukraine remains constant, then by 2025 the aggressor country will lose at least 500 thousand soldiers, officers and mercenaries killed and wounded. The UK Ministry of Defense announced this on the social network X on December 30.
This increase in daily casualties reported by the Ukrainian side almost certainly indicates the degradation of Russian forces and their transformation into a “mass army” of lower quality and greater quantity after the “shared mobilization” of reservists in September 2022, the report says.
British intelligence believes that Russia will need 5-10 years to restore highly professional and experienced units in the Armed Forces.
The defense department recalled that during the nine years of the war in Afghanistan, the USSR lost about 70 thousand people.
Let us remind you that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost approximately 358 thousand 270 people. Also at the front, 5 thousand 969 tanks, 11 thousand 53 armored combat vehicles, 8 thousand 434 artillery systems, 329 aircraft, 324 helicopters, 23 ships and submarines were destroyed.
