The government has completed the preparation of the “Ukraine Plan”, which is necessary to receive financial assistance from the EU under the Ukraine Facility program.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the recovery, reconstruction and modernization plan (Ukrainian plan), which is necessary to receive financial assistance from the European Union after 2023. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced this on Friday, December 29.
“Today we approved the draft plan of the Facility of Ukraine for submission to the European Commission. Together with business, the public sector, the parliamentary corps, and the regions, we have done a great job in creating it. There are ongoing development, where the European Commission will provide its comments and proposals. We will have the final conditions of the program after the approval of the regulations of the Ukraine Facility by the European Council, the meeting of which is scheduled for on February 1, 2024,” Shmygal said.
As the prime minister noted, after the European Commission agreed on the final version of the plan, Ukraine will have access to a financial resource of 50 billion euros for four years, of which 39 billion will be used to ensure stability of macro-financial.
As you know, Prime Minister Viktor Orban is threatening to block all EU aid to Ukraine, as well as further movement of our country in the bloc, if EU leaders do not agree to re consider their entire strategy for supporting Kyiv.
Later, Orban said that Hungary would agree not to veto the EU’s proposal to allocate funds for Ukraine in the amount of 50 billion euros, but that Brussels should unfreeze the 30 billion euros earmarked for Hungary.
