They were captured after being wounded and shell-shocked to varying degrees of severity, the command reported. Their bodies were evacuated.
Previously, the Office of the Prosecutor General identified probable suspects among the Russian army who may be involved in the shooting of Ukrainian military personnel near Robotiny in Zaporozhye – they could be soldiers of the 76th Airborne Division of the Russian Federation.
The prosecutor’s office received information and began investigating the shooting on December 16 before the video was distributed on social networks. Investigators have previously established the names of the dead Ukrainian soldiers and their brigade, but the data is not announced due to verification.
Judging by the video, the prisoners did not offer resistance. They were simply forced to their knees and shot with machine guns. The prosecutor’s office notes that this is a violation of Art. 3 of the Geneva Convention.
