Zelensky: We are working on defense packages

The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, in an evening video message to the people on Wednesday, December 27, summarized the results of the day and said that meetings with ministers continue to discuss plans for next year.

Zelensky began his evening speech with thanks to the defenders of the sky.

“First of all, thank you to the defenders of our skies. Over the past night and night, most of the 46 suicide bombers were shot down. The result is important. A result that daily proves the correctness of our actions, the our communication with partners: Ukrainian air defense, our mobile fire groups, our anti-aircraft gunners “We manage to defend the state. And we are quite actively planning for January and February – international events that will increase the strength of Ukraine. We are working on new defense packages,” the president said.

Zelensky also announced a meeting with the heads of Ukrainian defense companies.

“In total, about 300 thousand people are already working in our defense complex, and this is one of the greatest achievements of our state in several years. what is needed for a modern, technological war. Many private initiatives are is already working: four out of five companies in our defense industry are private enterprises. Many state-owned enterprises that have not worked for decades have launched their production, including new types of weapons,” stressed Zelensky.

The president added that Ukraine has clear goals for artillery, drones, missiles and armored vehicles for the next year.

“One of our biggest political results this year is an agreement with partners, especially the United States, on our joint production of weapons. Creation of new production facilities. Localization in Ukraine. Expansion of the repair base . All this adds strength to Ukraine in defense, and economic strength: this is the growth of GDP – significant – and good jobs. I thank each and everyone who develops this industry to us, to everyone who puts of their own work, their ideas on the development of the Ukrainian defense industry. And I am sure that our “defense industry” – subject to such continuous development – over time it will definitely enter the top 10 most productive and powerful defense complexes in the world. This is the real potential of Ukraine, and our state can become one of the global donors of security and one of the strongest members of NATO. We are working hard for this.” , Zelensky assured.

The President said he met with ministers and the head of the National Bank of Ukraine. In particular, there was a meeting with the Minister of the Interior.

“Report the Russian attack on Kherson yesterday: unfortunately, one policeman was killed – Lieutenant Igor Misyunya, Kirovograd State Police Department. My condolences to the family and friends… Four people were injured, two of among them are policemen, all of whom received the necessary assistance. All services are working to restore Kherson’s energy supply. Yesterday, 70% of the city was left without electricity. Critical infrastructure has been- on generators. Normal work is gradually resuming. Gas supplies to Kherson have been resumed,” Zelensky added.

The President named several policemen who protect Ukraine on the front line and thanked the counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine, who today, December 27, celebrate their professional holiday.

He noted that Ukrainians should understand the point of view of the military command and how the people’s representatives propose to solve the issues.
