The head of the Israeli government, Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the positions of the Defense Forces in the Gaza Strip, where they are conducting a ground operation.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu named three conditions that must be met to end the war against Palestinian Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip. The Wall Street Journal writes about it on Monday, December 25.
According to him, it is about
-
destruction of Hamas;
-
demilitarization of Gaza;
-
deradicalization of Palestinian society
Israel’s Prime Minister said that ensuring that Gaza would never again be used as a base for an attack on his country included the establishment of a temporary security zone around the perimeter of the Strip and the introduction of an inspection mechanism in border of Egypt.
“When Hamas is destroyed, Gaza is demilitarized and Palestinian society begins the process of deradicalization, Gaza can be restored and the prospects for greater peace in the Middle East will become a reality,” the leader of the Israeli government said.
In turn, The Times of Israel reported that Netanyahu met with IDF soldiers in the Gaza Strip, where they are conducting a ground operation. After the visit, he said that Israel would “intensify military operations in the coming days” and that the war against the Hamas terrorist group would last a long time.
“We are not stopping, we are continuing to fight and deepen the battle in the coming days, and it will be a long battle, and it is far from over. We need patience, unity and adherence to the goals of our mission,” said of the politician.
Netanyahu added that hostages still held by Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip “will not be released without military pressure.”
It was earlier revealed that Israel Defense Forces soldiers mistakenly killed three hostages in an operation in the Gaza Strip.
