The Russian Aerospace Forces lost three Su-34 attack aircraft in southern Ukraine between December 21 and 22. This information has already been confirmed by the Russian command. The so-called military correspondents of the occupiers claim that Ukrainian air defense shot down these Su-34s in the Krynok area. This is stated in a new report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Russian military officers responded to the isolated incident with great concern about the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ air defense in southern Ukraine, experts say.
ISW added that before this, the Russian army lost two Mi-8 helicopters, a Su-34 bomber and a Su-35 fighter “during an incident” in the Bryansk region on May 13, 2023. Then the reaction of the occupiers to the capabilities of Ukrainian air defense was similar.
Meanwhile, the Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Nikolai Oleshchuk trolled Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who threatened to “click” Patriot. He published a screenshot of news from Russian media, published back in December 2022.
Coincidence? Don’t think! – wrote Oleschuk.
Let us recall that on December 22, the commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Nikolai Oleshchuk reported that at midnight in the southern direction, the Ukrainian military shot down three Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers at once.
The representative of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuri Ignat, added that it was a brilliantly planned operation, and the Su-34 had not appeared in the statistics of Russian military losses for a long time. It is from these aircraft that the invaders launch air bombs and missile attacks.
Russian military publics claimed that their bombers were targeted by a Patriot anti-aircraft missile system.
