The President emphasized that every Hero of Ukraine and the families of fallen Heroes will receive an apartment from the state.
President Vladimir Zelensky presented the Order of the Golden Star and certificates for receiving apartments to the Hero of Ukraine and relatives of military personnel awarded this title posthumously. The press service of the President of Ukraine reported this today, December 21.
The President personally presented the Gold Star to the Hero of Ukraine, Senior Sergeant Viktor Nasonov.
“In January 2023, he captured a wounded invader. In February, near Bakhmut, Donetsk region, Viktor Nasonov received a leg wound in a battle with the enemy, but refused to leave and continued the battle. In addition , the senior sergeant, under enemy fire, helped the wounded soldier, carried out his evacuation, returned to the position to repel the next enemy attack,” the statement said.
Many more fighters were posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine, and the awards were received by relatives of the victims.
Certificates for the apartments were received by Major Vladislav Bandar, Junior Sergeant Andrey Golovko, Colonel Denis Diky, Captain Igor Dikun, Lieutenant Colonel Artem Sharkov, Senior Sergeant of the National Guard Viktor Nasonov, as well as the mother of the fallen Hero of Ukraine Captain Andrey Soroka.
Participants in the ceremony observed a minute of silence in memory of every defender of Ukraine who gave his life for Ukraine. The President emphasized that every Hero of Ukraine and the families of fallen Heroes will receive an apartment from the state.
“And this is the least that the state can do now, so that everyone feels and feels that Ukrainian gratitude does not remain and will not remain just words,” he said.
We remind you that President Vladimir Zelensky awarded the Golden Heart distinction to 39 volunteers from different parts of Ukraine. The award is given for significant personal contribution to the provision of voluntary aid and development of the volunteer movement.
