Investigative actions on December 19 are being carried out in connection with the occurrence of an emergency situation, which led to a violation of the tightness, water leakage and sand entering the metro tunnel, the National Police reported.
Investigators from the police department in the metro, together with experts, conducted a thorough inspection of the tunnel between the Demeevskaya-Lybidskaya metro stations, the surface above the tunnel, the bed of the Dnieper River and the surrounding area.
As part of criminal proceedings, a comprehensive judicial construction and technical examination has already been appointed.
As for another problematic section of the metro in Kyiv, the work planned for next year to strengthen the supports of the Metro bridge in Kyiv will not affect the operation of the metro. This was announced on December 19 by the director of the Department of Transport Infrastructure, Ruslan Kandibor.
According to him, design documentation is currently being developed to strengthen the bridge supports, but the work will not affect the operation of the metro, and the red line will operate as normal.
The day before, information appeared online that due to bridge repairs, several metro stations of the “red line” of the Kyiv metro may be closed.
